Thursdays@Newhall Series Continues on August 6

The City of Santa Clarita’s Thursdays@Newhall series, presented by Galpin Subaru, will continue to shake up Old Town Newhall with its August events. 

Beginning on Thursday, August 6, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., ArtSLAM will feature artwork from Laurie MorganKristina Jacob, Patty Haft and free caricatures. At 7:30 p.m. participants can jump and jive at JAM Sessions, hosted by Ford Theatre Foundation, with a swing dance night hosted by the Pasadena Ballroom Dance Association.

Revved Up on Thursday, August 13 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., will feature antiques from the birth of the automobile to the end of World War II. Local residents interested in submitting an automobile for consideration in Revved Up can apply online.

Residents can celebrate the 46th anniversary of Woodstock with a peace, love and rock ‘n’ roll block party at SENSES on Thursday, August 20, from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.  Participants can enjoy tie-dying, vintage Volkswagen buses and psychedelic tunes from Woodstock Mud.  

The August lineup of Thursdays@Newhall events finishes on Thursday, August 27 with the ARTree Speaker Series, presented in partnership with the CalArts Community Arts Partnership and the City of Santa Clarita, and SCVTV Presents the OutWest Concert Series.

From 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on August 27, the ARTree Speaker Series will host Disney Imagineering executive, Michael Jung as he explains the creative process behind Disneyland’s world-famous attractions.

Also on August 27, SCVTV presents the OutWest Concert Series with six-time WMA Entertainer of the Year award-winner, Dave Stamey, beginning at 8:00 p.m. at the Repertory East Playhouse located at 24266 Main Street. Tickets can be purchased here.
