10 By 10, Note By Note and Art Reception Highlight the Calendar

Post Date:10/31/2017 10:21 AM

The City of Santa Clarita’s Thursdays@Newhall series, presented by Galpin Subaru, transitions to an indoor-only schedule from November through February. Popular events 10 By 10, Note By Note and the art receptions at The MAIN continue in the winter months, while JAM Sessions, Revved Up car shows and SENSES block parties will return in March 2018.

Thursdays@Newhall is an ongoing opportunity for residents of Santa Clarita to attend free shows and concerts on Thursday nights in Old Town Newhall.

Leading off the month, on November 2 at The MAIN, located at 24266 Main Street, 10 performers will take the stage for 10 minutes each and share their comedy, storytelling, short films and music at the monthly 10 by 10 show from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Performances this month include storytelling by Ty Fance, Oscar Sagastume and Michael Kass; comedy with Raabtune Russell and Jaclyn Passaro; magic by Scott Marshall; music by The New Mexican, Ric Taylor and Emily Solis; and short film “Where Are You?”

On November 9, local songwriters will perform their original works at Note by Note inside The MAIN. Featured performers in November include Melanie Carroll-Dolci, Burton Zimmer, Tom Corbett and GRIT. Performers interested in Note by Note can learn more at OldTownNewhall.com/NotebyNote.

Thursdays@Newhall’s November schedule concludes with an art reception on November 16 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at The MAIN for this month’s featured exhibit, “Sign Language,” by Alex Cerda. Cerda fuses fine art techniques with contemporary compositions and canvases. “Sign Language” allows the audience to experience raw emotions conveyed through art pieces that use signs as a canvas and integrate graphics into paintings. Guests attending this free reception will enjoy light appetizers, entertainment and a chance to meet Cerda.
