Arbor Day
Learn about the ecological importance of trees and how they contribute to our beautiful community. As part of the world-wide Arbor Day holiday, this event serves to educate residents about the benefits of trees in a fun, hands-on setting. For more information, visit: Arbor Day 2008.


Daddy Daughter Dance
Dad’s will enjoy an evening of dining and dancing with their special princess.  An elegant formal evening is planned for Dad’s and their daughter(s) that will make for a lifetime of cherished memories.  All girls receive a flower, photo with their dad and a keepsake.  The cost is $45.00 per couple and $15.00 each additional daughter.  Registration accepted at Parks and Recreation Desk at the Aquatic Center or on line at www.santa-clarita.com.


Dodger Day
31st Annual Santa Clarita Dodger Day: June 7, 2008 - Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Chicago Cubs at Dodger Stadium. Enjoy the day and celebrate their 50th Anniversary in Los Angeles. Dog Vaccination Clinic
Save yourself some cash by attending the Annual Dog Vaccination Clinic. The City of Santa Clarita and the Los Angeles County department of Animal Care and Control are proud to present a low cost vaccination and licensing clinic for dogs County Animal Care staff and volunteers from the City of Santa Clarita will be on hand to offer information and assistance to pet owners. All pets must be on a leash adequate to safely control the dog.


Eggstravaganza
Grab your basket and join us in the search for goodies left by Mr. E. Bunny.   All ages are welcome.  Easter bunny will be available to take pictures with. The "Egg Scramble" is held at Valencia Glen Park, Central Park, and Canyon Country Park. Each park is divided into different areas by age, so everyone has a fun and fair time.  The event is free, and there is no registration required. Please check for the park location nearest to you for an eggcellent fun time!.

Newhall Children’s Holiday Parade
Prepare for the picture perfect holiday experience! Mr. and Mrs. Claus, bright lights and trimming, holiday carolers...and snow? That's right! All Santa Clarita Valley children are encouraged to participate by walking in the parade and dressing up according to their family’s holiday traditions.  Children can decorate wagons, bikes, skateboards and scooters.  Children are invited to register with a pet, a friend, a group, as a scout troop, as a dance or cheer team or any other group or organization.  This parade is in celebration of children and absolutely no adults are permitted to walk in the parade!  For more information on the Holiday Parade, please visit www.oldtownnewhall.com.


River Rally
Come help clean a portion of Newhall Creek, a tributary of the Santa Clara River, one of the last natural rivers in Southern California. Be a part of the solution for a better environment by helping to preserve the river's natural beauty and variety of wildlife. To date, thousands of volunteers have collected over 230,000 pounds of trash and debris from the Santa Clara River and its tributaries!

Third Friday
On the ‘Third Friday’ of every month, local Santa Clarita music bands perform at the Sports Complex in the Activities Center. The music ranges from hard-core to alternative to hip-hop.
