Workshop
Location (follow the signs once on campus):
Are you an artist who currently works, or who would like to work in the entertainment industry? Come to this seminar, led by lawyers Sarah Conley and Frank Lunn to learn about how artists work in the entertainment industry, and how to work with managers and agents to develop a career in the entertainment world. In addition to Sarah and Frank, who will talk about their experiences in the entertainment industry, you will also hear from one or more managers/agents who will appear as special guests at this two-part series. These seminars will cover a range of issues from contracts and intellectual property rights in an employment or independent contracting situation, to networking tips and interviewing strategies, as well as a discussion covering how you can find the right representation for you. Learn how to read and understand contracts and how to enforce them once the work is done. Learn what simple steps you can take yourself to reduce the likelihood of disputes. - Artist/Pop Surrealist "One very important
and guiding principle to my work is to reach out beyond the elitist boundaries
of fine art and connect to popular culture through my art. My personal
ambition has always been to live the example. I believe the artist has
a social responsibility to engage others in a thought process that ultimately
brings the creative process into everyday life thereby enhancing the quality
of our experience."
Minimum of 10 registrants is necessary for the class to take place.
