The City of Santa Clarita supports and encourages a healthy lifestyle and offers residents experiences that strengthen their well-being. The Newhall Community Center offers classes for youth ages 7 and up.  

Ballet
Learn the basic ballet steps and movements in a friendly, relaxed environment. Classes for beginners and intermediate levels.

 

Boxing 
Boxing Fitness for Youth
Boxing Introduction for Youth

 

Beginning Ballet Folklórico
Traditional Mexican folk dancing for ages 5 and up. Learn the basic footwork and skirt movements.

Ballet Folklórico Performance Academy
Advanced training in steps, skirt movements, and cultural importance of Mexican folk dancing. Requires instructor approval. 

Karate 
Learn and master the fundamentals of Kang Chaun Do Karate including blocks, punches, and kicks. Beginning to Advanced classes offered. 

 Strings
Students will learn the basics of note reading and playing violin at a novice level. Students will be required to purchase or rent violins, plus book and supplies. 

Strings Chamber Ensemble 
This group is for more advanced players who will form chamber ensembles, quartets, trios, and duets based on similar levels and ability. Students will work on repertoire according to that ensemble’s ability. Each group will receive some coaching with the goal of performing at a May/June recital.

Zumba® for Kids

Perfect for younger Zumba® fans! Kids 7-11 years old get the chance to be active and jam out to their favorite music. Zumba® Kids classes feature kid-friendly routines based on original Zumba® choreography. We break down the steps, add games, activities and cultural exploration elements into the class structure.

 


 

Registration

Registration for programs at the Newhall Community Center can be done online or in person.  The City utilizes an online recreation management program, Rec1, for City registration. Please click on one of the Rec1 buttons below to either create an online account, or login and register.
