at the Santa Clarita Superior Court, (213) 742-6648 (24 hours/7 days a week).

What Happens If My Payment
Is Late?
- If the citation is NOT paid by the due date, the full fine
amount and a delinquent fee of $15 shall be placed on your vehicle's
registration records with the Department of Motor Vehicles.
- The vehicle may not be registered until the citation has been
paid in full.
- Your income tax refund could be withheld to pay outstanding
parking citations.
- A delinquent citation can be paid at:

- Automobile Club of Southern California (A delinquent citation payment will be accepted only if the fine has been added to DMV Registration Fees. Current membership

How Do I Appeal a Parking
Citation?
Submit a written letter, or a completed copy of the "Request
for Administrative Review of a Parking Citation" form (PDF*),
with supporting documentation, such as pictures, drawings, etc.
detailing the appeal, within 21 days of the citation's issue date.

The "penalty clock" stops until the citation is reviewed. There
will be no additional penalties assessed during the review period.
No appeals will be accepted after the citation becomes delinquent,
and you will be required to pay the full fine amount and a delinquent
fee of $15.
What Happens After I Appeal
a Parking Citation?
- The citation will be reviewed and a field investigation will
be done, if required.
- You will be notified of the citation's status by mail at the
vehicles registered address.
- The citation will be found either "Liable" or "Not Liable".
- If the citation is found "Liable", you must pay the fine amount
due.
- If the citation is found "Not Liable", no further action is
required. If payment has been made, a refund will be processed.
- If the citation is found "Liable" and you wish to appeal further,
an Administrative Hearing (below) may be requested.
What is an Administrative
Hearing?
- An Administrative Hearing is an opportunity to have your
appeal reviewed by an independent Hearing Officer.
- Hearings are held every other Tuesday starting at 9:00am.
- To request an Administrative Hearing:
- Return by mail, the "Result of Administrative Review Notice",
along with the full fine amount, within 21 days of the date
on the notice to:

- The Hearing Officer's ruling will be mailed within 7 days.
- No hearing requests will be accepted after 21 days, and you
will be required to pay the full fine amount and a delinquent
fee of $15.
Can I Appeal a Parking Citation
in Superior Court?
- Yes, but only after the citation has been found "Liable" through
the Administrative Review and Administrative Hearing processes.
- File the "Notice of Appeal/Proof of Service"
form (PDF*), along with a $25 filing fee at Santa Clarita Superior
Court-Civil Claims Division, within 30 days of the date on the
notice that is mailed to you following the Administrative Hearing.
- If the "Liable" ruling is overturned, the City will refund
the $25 filing fee and all fine amounts paid.
