January 23rd, 2007 -The City of Santa Clarita honors the Saugus Girls Cross Country Team for winning the 2006 Division I State Championship. The undefeated Centurions posted the eighth fastest time in the history of the California state finals and are now ranked the seventh best team in the nation.
January 23rd, 2007 - The City recognizes College of the Canyons for their partnership and participation in the first drive-thru shot clinic. On November 17, 2006, 801 participants received free flu shots thanks to COC’s Nursing School students, along with nursing instructors and Public Health nurses
January 23rd, 2007 - The City commemorates Safe Rides for 20 years of service. Safe Rides is a community service program operated by volunteer teenagers with adult assistance, which provides free, confidential rides home on Friday and Saturday nights from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. and on New Year’s Eve.
