March 8th, 2007- The City Council honors members from the Los Angeles Retarded Citizens’ Foundation (LARC) Ranch who participated in a graffiti clean up event on February 10th, 2007. Approximately 20 participants removed approximately 200 tags from the Sierra Highway wash under supervision by the City’s graffiti removal staff and LARC Ranch representatives.

March 8th, 2007- Abigail Forrest, of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, presents the City’s Urban Forestry Department with its 17th consecutive Tree City USA award for 2006. The National Arbor Foundation, in cooperation with the U.S. Forest Service, and the National Association of State Foresters, recognize communities across the nation that effectively manage their public tree resource and encourage the implementation of community tree management.
