Located in the heart of Old Town Newhall, the Repertory East Playhouse (REP) is Santa Clarita's only professional live theater. The REP annually produces five Main Stage and three “81 Series” shows. The Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center is located on the campus of College of the Canyons, a California community college located at . The $18.3-million facility boasts a spectacular 7,500-square-foot proscenium theater with a state-of-the-art sound system and 886 seats, as well as the experimental Black Box theater. Funded by the State of California ($15.9 million) and the City of Santa Clarita, ($2.4 million), the 47,000 square-foot center features instructional, community and professional entertainment and informational programs.
