Bike to Work Day - May 15, 2008

Bike To Work Day Challenge

This friendly competition is for participating Santa Clarita businesses to see which employer can get the most employees to bike to work on Thursday, May 14, 2009. This event will take place during the biggest bicycle commute in California – Bike to Work Week May 11-15, 2009. Bicycle pit stops will be available for the cyclists.  Riders will also have the opportunity to receive prizes from both the City and Metro!

Be part of the solution and pledge to bike to work. Bicycling reduces traffic, keeps our air clean, improves your health, and saves you money on gas!

Help the Environment and Win Great Prizes from the City and Metro in the Process!

The businesses with the highest participation rate (in each category) will win free frozen yogurt from Golden Spoon-Valencia for all of their participating cyclists. All participants in the event have the opportunity to win free raffle prizes from the City of Santa Clarita. There is no cost to take the challenge!

In addition, every rider has the chance to win a bike, gift certificates, messenger bags, and other great prizes from Metro by pledging to ride at www.metro.net/biketowork. By pledging to ride on Metro’s website and biking to work on May 15, you will be eligible to win prizes from both the City and Metro.

Businesses should designate a “Lead Rider” who will be responsible for registering their business, keeping track of cyclists, encouraging employees to ride, and act as the business point of contact.

The three categories of competition:

Small Business (2-10 employees)
Medium Business (11-100 employees)
