Consistent with the City’s philosophy of encouraging continual professional development, we offer a variety of programs aimed at investing in and developing our employees. Our award-winning Mentoring Program offers a tremendous opportunity to engage in a meaningful and productive relationship focused on personal and professional development. The Job Shadowing Program, offered twice a year, enables employees to spend part of a day with selected employees to learn about their job duties as well as the qualifications and experience requirements for various City jobs. The City also offers a variety of trainings throughout the year focusing on professional and personal development. My internship with the City helped me gain exposure to various career options.
