Message from the City Manager - January, 2003

MESSAGE FROM THE CITY MANAGER KEN PULSKAMP

Happy New Year!

Here it is already 2003. I hope that all of you enjoyed this holiday season and were able to take time with family and friends. With the New Year comes our City’s new and improved website at www.santaclarita. com! Our staff has been working for the last year on a new and improved site that will provide easier navigation, more on-line services, better interaction and a brand new look!

Things are moving right along here at City Hall! We will celebrate our first grand opening of the new year on January 24, 2003, at 11 a.m., with the Grand Opening of Central Park, Phase 2. This new phase adds 40 more acres to Central Park, bringing four new playing fields, three full basketball courts, and new restroom facilities. Plan to join us at the park site on this special day.

Back in November, we held a community meeting for the Canyon Country area. At that meeting, residents told us things they would like to see done in this area of our City. We have developed a work plan and will be sharing it with the community at a special meeting on January 22, 2003, at 7 p.m. at Canyon Country Park, community room, 17615 Soledad Canyon. Plan to attend this meeting and find out what’s happening in Canyon Country. (If you cannot attend, you can view the work plan on-line after January 22 at www.santa-clarita.com.)

Early this spring, we will be celebrating another grand opening. The new fiveacre Oak Spring Canyon Park will open to the community. This neighborhood park features a children’s play area, a covered picnic area, restrooms, a climbing rock, and a beautiful tree with seating around it. Be sure to check back with us on this site to find out the date for this event.

We have a lot going on this year so keep yourself up-to-date by checking in regularly on our website and by reading these monthly letters. Thank you for your continued interest in our City. I wish you and your family a very happy 2003!

Best Regards,

Ken Pulskamp
