CITY TO HOST NATIONAL DAY OF HONOR FOR AMERICA’S VETERANS AND MILITARY FAMILIES

The City of Santa Clarita would like to invite the community to attend a special Veteran’s Day Ceremony beginning at 11a.m. on Sunday, November 11, 2007 at the Veteran’s Historical Plaza, located at 24275 N. Walnut Street in Newhall.

The City of Santa Clarita has joined with The Historical Veteran’s Committee, the Prayer Angels for the Military, Blue Star Moms of the Canyons Chapter #82, and Santa Clarita Valley Chapter #91 Blue Star Moms to honor our veterans and currently-serving members of the military and their families. The ceremonies will include musical performers, speakers and a changing of the flags.

“The City would like to join the nation in thanking and honoring the extreme sacrifices made by veterans and members of the Armed Forces as well as their families’,” said Mayor Marsha McLean. “The Veteran’s Historical Plaza is a City facility designed to recognize the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.”
