CITY, PARKS, RECREATION, AND OPEN SPACE MASTER PLAN TO BE UPDATED
Public Encouraged to Attend Comment Meeting on Wednesday, November 28, 2007

The City of Santa Clarita is encouraging all residents to attend the third and final community workshop for the Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Master Plan Update on Wednesday, November 28, 2007, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Activities Center in the Santa Clarita Sports Complex, located at 20880 Centre Pointe Parkway.

The final community workshop will build up on the first two workshops and focus on engaging the public in the prioritization of the needs of the parks, recreation, and open space areas of the Santa Clarita Community sports programs and participant’s experiences with the recreation programs and facilities in the City of Santa Clarita. Refreshments will be provided.

“This is a great opportunity for the public to get involved and play a part in shaping the new master plan for the future of parks, recreation, and open space areas in Santa Clarita over the next decade,” commented Rick Gould, City Director of the Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Department.

The City’s population, demographic characteristics, and the needs of the community have changed over the years. The community workshops are part of an ongoing effort in determining what the public sees as community needs, issues, opportunities, and constraints in the parks, recreation, and open space areas.

Once updated, the master plan will be a guiding document for the future of the City's parks, recreation and open space areas.

For further information, please call the City’s Department of Parks, Recreation, and Community Services at (661) 286-4000.
