CITY AND SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT ENCOURAGING RESIDENTS TO APPLY FOR LOCAL CAREERS
Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station Now Hiring

The City of Santa Clarita and the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station is encouraging Santa Clarita residents to consider careers with the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department and apply for job opportunities available in the Santa Clarita Valley.

The Sheriff’s Department is now testing applicants interested in becoming a Deputy Sheriff Trainee. Training will be held at College of the Canyons. Applicants can now test, train, and work here in the Santa Clarita Valley.

“The City has had a long successful relationship with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station and we are pleased to partner together to increase the number of job opportunities in the Santa Clarita Valley available to our community members,” commented Mayor Marsha McLean.

The Deputy Sheriff Trainee test will be held at College of the Canyons campus in Mentry Hall room #318 on Saturday, December 8, 2007.

Registration is at 8:00 a.m. and testing will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m. No reservations are required. Oral interviews will take place immediately after the test for those that successfully pass. Please dress professionally.

Hired applicants will attend an 18 week paid training academy at College of the Canyons. College of the Canyons is located at 26455 Rockwell Canyon Road.
