On Friday, December 7th, 2007, a motorist struck a traffic signal along westbound Soledad Canyon Road knocking it down into the roadway. The incident occurred adjacent to the Golden Valley Bridge (near Ruether Avenue/Home Depot), at Valley Center Drive.
As a result, as of 10:30 a.m. today, all three westbound lanes of Soledad Canyon remain closed. One lane of westbound traffic on Soledad Canyon has been diverted via the eastbound lanes of Soledad, so that currently, two lanes of eastbound Soledad remain open.
