At the request of Mayor Bob Kellar, the Santa Clarita City Council will hold a special City Council meeting on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at 3:30 p.m. to address the removal of the temporary Benz Road/Alaminos Drive traffic diverter.
The traffic diverter was put into place at the authorization of the City Council, at Benz Road and Alaminos Street on Wednesday, September 24, 2008, in response to requests from residents of Benz Road who are experiencing increased traffic on their street.
Following the placement of the diverter, residents living on surrounding streets contacted the City, expressing concerns with regard to the diverter. By Friday, September 26, the City had received well over 100 emails and phone calls regarding issues related to the installation of the temporary Benz Road diverter.
Mayor Kellar requested a special City Council meeting be scheduled as soon as possible to again address this issue. The City Council will meet in Council Chambers at City Hall, 23920 Valencia Boulevard, first floor.
