AIR FORCE WEEK AND THE AIR FORCE FILM FESTIVAL TAKE PLACE IN SANTA CLARITA THIS WEEKEND

Residents Invited to Enjoy Two Complimentary Movie Screenings this Sunday

In celebration of Air Force Week, the Air Force Film Festival is hosting two complimentary screenings of the film Fighter Pilot: Operation Red Flag on Sunday, November 16. The screenings will be held at the Edwards Canyon Country 10 Theater at 18800 Soledad Canyon Road at 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Guest speakers at both screenings include City of Santa Clarita Mayor Bob Kellar, Maj Gen “Hawk” Carlisle (SAF/LL) and Team Edwards’ own Lt Col Trosper, along with other speakers from the Air Force.

“It is my belief this event and others like it are more important than ever right now in the United States. Tens of thousands of Americans are serving our country throughout the world and the Air Force Film Festival’s films offer viewers a glimpse of the rigorous training, proud patriotism, and heroic bravery that are characteristic of our country’s military personnel,” said Mayor Kellar.

The film Fighter Pilot: Operation Red Flag follows pilot John Stratton as he makes his way through the international training exercise for air forces of allied countries called “Red Flag.” Many of the world’s best pilots meet at this training, which is not only the most challenging flying of their careers, but the final training before actual combat.

A question and answer session with the audience follows each screening, providing the audience the opportunity to gain additional perspective and information about this heroic journey and lives of some of the country’s bravest servants.

Seating at both the 3:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. screenings is complimentary and offered on a first-come, first-serve basis. Seats may be reserved on the Air Force Week website at www.airforceweeklosangeles.com.
