CITY LAUNCHES NEW SKATE PARK WEBSITE

The City of Santa Clarita has launched a new and revised website for the City Skate Park: scskatepark.com. The new site offers comprehensive information on the popular City facility, including park hours and rules, event announcements, a photo gallery and more.

Community skaters can find information on safety regulations, allowable equipment, City and professional events, and exhibitions in one convenient place on the site. Links are also provided on the site to directly connect users to e-service request forms and frequently asked questions. Local riders can also text “scskatepark” to 41411 to receive up-to-the-minute news about the Skate Park.

“Because the Skate Park is one of the most popular City facilities, the City wanted to provide the community with a single location to visit to learn all about the Park,” said Mayor Frank Ferry. “The new website offers comprehensive information to keep the local skate park community up-to-speed with everything going on at the state-of-the-art park.”

One of the events listed on the new City Skate Park website is the upcoming Wild in the Parks event, presented by Volcom. The open skate amateur competition will be held at the City’s Skate Park on Saturday, September 19. Pre-registration for the event will begin September 9 at Volcom.com. Per skate park safety regulations, helmets, elbow and knee pads are required.

For more information on the new City Skate Park website, contact Toi Chisom, Recreation Superintendant, at (661) 250-3769 or visit scskatepark.com.
