The City of Santa Clarita’s 2009 Concerts in the Park series will come to a close this Saturday, August 29 with a performance by a returning fan favorite- disco band ‘Boogie Knights.’ The finale event is free to attend and will begin Saturday evening at 7 p.m.
Already a Santa Clarita favorite, ‘Boogie Knights’ is widely heralded as the greatest disco revival show in the world. The band’s performance comes complete with choreography, polyester, afros, bell bottoms and crazy humor.
Residents are invited to bring the whole family out to Central park to enjoy groovy disco music in a great setting.
“This year’s Concerts in the Park series saw outstanding performances and record-breaking attendance. I can’t think of a better band to bring down the house for the series finale than the electrifying and entertaining Boogie Knights,” said Mayor Frank Ferry. “Community members of all ages will definitely enjoy this performance while celebrating the close of one of the City’s most popular summertime traditions.”
The City’s annual Concerts in the Park series is held at Santa Clarita’s Central Park and is one of the City’s most popular events year after year. The 2009 talent lineup is filled with returning favorites and first-time bands, providing non-stop fun for the whole family.
