The Los Angeles County Fire Department has notified the City of Santa Clarita that residents in the Sand Canyon area may see smoke or fire today resulting from various fire suppression efforts. The Station Fire remains quite a distance away from Santa Clarita and residents are urged not to panic.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department is utilizing ground crews and suppression efforts, including possible “back burns” as needed, to prevent the fire’s spread. The Fire Department will inform the City and residents should the situation change.
“The City of Santa Clarita is well aware of the immense efforts the Los Angeles County Fire Department is putting forth to help combat fires and save homes,” said Mayor Frank Ferry. “The City thanks community members for their support of fire fighting personnel and will keep residents informed if any changes in occur.”
