The City of Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Business Alliance Program will host a free lunch and learn workshop on Retail Fraud and Theft Prevention on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at City Hall in the City Council Chambers, 23920 Valencia Boulevard, Santa Clarita.
The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station and the City of Santa Clarita are proud to partner together as part of the City/Sheriff Business Alliance monthly Lunch and Learn Program. The upcoming workshop on Retail Fraud and Theft Prevention is part of a series of complimentary programs and is geared specifically for local retail businesses. All retail owners, managers, and loss prevention employees are highly encouraged to attend this free training.
During this workshop, a team member from the U.S. Immigration Customs and Enforcement (ICE) Mutual Agreement between Government and Employers (IMAGE) program will provide practical information on how to prevent theft, credit card/check fraud, and organized crime from preying on businesses. Fraud Fighters will also be joining the workshop and providing demonstrations on how their products work and ways to prevent crime.
“The City of Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Business Alliance Program is a great way to share safety tips and provide valuable crime prevention information to our local business community,” Mayor Frank Ferry said. “By partnering through this program, we can all work together to educate ourselves and reduce crime in our City,” added Mayor Ferry.
The Sheriff’s Department the City of Santa Clarita, plus the local business community can work together to effectively reduce crime by being informed, active participants in our community.
