CITY BEGINS DECORO DRIVE RESTRIPING PROCESS

The City of Santa Clarita began the restriping process on Decoro Drive on Thursday, September 24. The entire restriping process is set to be completed by Friday, October 2 with the majority of the work to begin Monday, September 28.

Construction commenced with grinding to remove the white striped buffer area located between the bike lane and traffic lane on the roadway.

Decoro Drive will remain one lane in each direction to accommodate through traffic on the roadway during construction. Bike lanes on Decoro Drive will also be closed at this time.

“When the Decoro Drive restriping process is completed, the roadway will include a narrowed center median, two traffic lanes in each direction and one six foot bike lane on each side of the roadway,” said Mayor Frank Ferry. “These changes directly reflect the striping pattern agreed upon by community members at the Decoro Drive Community Meeting, held September 2.”

Residents should anticipate delays on Decoro Drive during the restriping process. Traffic control on the roadway will be provided by the project contractor.
