In an effort to let residents know that City Hall employees are customer service oriented, friendly and available, the City is launching a public service campaign called “You’ve Got a Friend at City Hall!”
The campaign, which will debut on local bus shelters, KHTS-AM-1220 AM, local publications including the City’s SEASONS magazine beginning in February, features information about various city employees who have a lot of contact with the public.
The first featured employee is Lorrie Runyon, the city council secretary, who is often required to juggle many duties and priorities. Lorrie is pictured as a “master juggler,” with several tools of her trade floating in the air above her head. Lorrie is contacted routinely by the public with requests to talk or meet with a city councilmember or schedule a councilmember for speaking engagements, presentations and other appearances.
The “You’ve Got a Friend at City Hall” campaign is being launched following a massive internal customer service education program called “service excellence” that all city employees have gone through over the last year.
“Our goal is to provide top notch customer service to the public in every department in every encounter, commented Ken Pulskamp, City Manager. We work hard to be friendly and accessible and we want the public to know about it,” he continued.
Education and training exercises for building upon a high level of service to the public was included in the city-wide employee training.
Other features planned on city employees include the City’s webmaster, the City’s streets maintenance team and the City’s roads funding warrior and capital projects manager.
