City of Santa Clarita Facilities Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is a Moonbounce allowed at the park?

A: Yes, but only with a Facility Reservation Permit and you will need to get a generator that the company supplies with the moonbounce; you may not have access to electricity.

Q: Why is insurance needed? Doesn't the City already have insurance?

A: Yes, the City is insured, but only for City sponsored events. When renting City facilities your special event is under your control, and you will be responsible for any damages or accidents that occur.

Q: Where can liability insurance be obtained?

A: You can call your insurance agent and ask for a policy naming the City as an additional insured. Or, you can purchase insurance through the City of Santa Clarita's insurance program.

Q: Are pony rides allowed at the park?

A: No. The only animals allowed in parks are dogs, and they must remain on a 6-foot leash at all times.

Q: Is a reservation needed for a picnic area?

A: No. A reservation will guarantee that you get priority over whichever area in the park you choose to hold your function. In the event there is already a reservation, you can still hold your event, you just may not get the area of your choice.

Q: Can a City pool be reserved?

A: The City does make reservations at our pools. Please call the Aquatics Coordinator at (661) 290-2201 for additional information on pool rentals.

Q: Is a facility attendant mandatory?

A: Facility Attendants are mandatory for all community room rentals. In addition to opening and closing City facilities, they provide outstanding service to facility renters.

Q: Are citizens allowed to bring their own barbeques to the park?

A: Yes, as long your barbeque is UL listed. Please use discretion when choosing a location for your barbeque.

Q: Are City facilities available for ongoing rentals?

A: You can make ongoing rentals at City facilities for a period of three months. After each quarter your status will be reviewed and renewed for the following quarter.
