The City's Environmental Services
Division oversees a variety of activities including the reduction
and/or elimination of pollutants from stormwater and urban
runoff, and the reduction of waste going to urban landfills,
recycling, air quality, household hazardous waste, street sweeping,
the trash franchise agreements, and storm drain inspection
and maintenance. The Stormwater Utility Field section is charged
with the reduction of pollutants from stormwater and urban
runoff water within the City limits in compliance with the
National Pollutant Discharge Elimination (NPDES) municipal
permit. The objective of the permit is to protect the environment
and improve overall water quality.
