Environmental Services

The Environmental Services Division strives to make Santa Clarita a better place to live and work by developing environmental and pollution prevention programs. This Division oversees the administration of an encompassing Public Education/Outreach Program designed to meet the mandated requirements of the Clean Water Act and California Integrated Waste Management Act.

The City's Environmental Services Division oversees a variety of activities including the reduction and/or elimination of pollutants from stormwater and urban runoff, and the reduction of waste going to urban landfills, recycling, air quality, household hazardous waste, street sweeping, the trash franchise agreements, and storm drain inspection and maintenance. The Stormwater Utility Field section is charged with the reduction of pollutants from stormwater and urban runoff water within the City limits in compliance with the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination (NPDES) municipal permit. The objective of the permit is to protect the environment and improve overall water quality.

More information about the services offered by the Environmental Services Division is available by telephone at (661) 222-7222 or by email at environment@santa-clarita.com.
