Welcome to the City of Santa Clarita's Public Works Department

As citizens of the City of Santa Clarita, together as a City we continue to grow and prosper. With the introduction of new projects and ideas, the Public Works Department strives to improve the quality of life in Santa Clarita and provide an exemplary level of customer service to each resident.

The Public Works Department is comprised of different divisions, each of which is responsible for various activities throughout the City. As a Department, we are dedicated to managing and completing capital projects that improve our community, maintaining quality roads, providing the residential and development community with development review services, and improving traffic flow and safety in our City.

As part of our Capital Improvement Program, we are excited to introduce new projects to the community, such as the Santa Clarita Aquatics Center. The Aquatics Center provides our community with an Olympic size pool with the ability to accommodate local swim meets, as well as the training necessary for local Olympic hopefuls.

In addition to the Aquatics Center, the City, in collaboration with various public and private agencies, is developing the Cross-Valley Connector project (CVC). The CVC is an 8½-mile roadway that connects to various streets throughout our City. This road will alleviate many traffic issues, as well as keep heavy traffic away from our neighborhood streets. For residents and visitors alike, the Cross-Valley Connector will bring a new and more convenient way to travel across our City.

The staff of the Public Works Department is proud to be part of our City’s growth and success. We strive for the common goal of quality customer service and improving the vitality of life in Santa Clarita.
