GOLDEN VALLEY ROAD BRIDGE OVER THE SANTA CLARA RIVER
The Cross Valley Connector (CVC) Golden Valley Road Bridge Over the Santa Clara River project will connect Newhall Ranch Road and Golden Valley Road. This is the last link to the CVC, which will provide a direct connection between Interstate 5 and State Route 14.

FY 08-09 ANNUAL OVERLAY AND SLURRY SEAL PROGRAM
Rockwell Canyon Road, Valencia Boulevard, 16th Street, and Various Neighborhoods
FY 2008-09 Annual Overlay and Slurry Seal Program is an annual project to maintain the asphalt on City streets up to the available budget.
Current Status: Construction is ongoing.
Estimated Completion: 10/30/09
Traffic Impacts: Lane closed with flagging of traffic through construction zone. Temporary asphalt over trench.

WILEY CANYON ROAD/SOLEDAD CANYON ROAD MEDIANS B1007
Wiley Canyon Road between Orchard Village Road and Lyons Avenue/Soledad Canyon Road including four medians just east of Bouquet Canyon Road
The median improvement project includes two different project areas: Project Area 1 is located on Wiley Canyon Road between Orchard Village Road and Lyons Avenue; Project Area 2 is located on Soledad Canyon Road and includes the four medians just east of Bouquet Canyon Road. The project will help the City accomplish its beautification efforts of all major roadways through landscaped medians.
Current Status: Construction is ongoing.
Estimated Completion: 11/30/09
Traffic Impacts: None at this time.

NEWHALL

08/09 MEDIAN MODIFICATION PROGRAM
Newhall Avenue at Sierra Highway
This project will provide for the design and construction of the reconfiguration of the median on Newhall Avenue in the area of Sierra Highway to improve traffic circulation and safety at the intersection. This includes a landscaped raised median, restriping, signage, traffic signal modification and the installation of a "Welcome tio City of Santa Clarita" monument.
Current Status: Construction is ongoing.

SAUGUS

SANTA CLARITA METROLINK STATION WATER FEATURE REHABILITATION
22122 Soledad Canyon Road, Santa Clarita, CA 91355
The project provides for a complete mechanical rehabilitation of the water feature including new plumbing, electrical, and filtration system. In addition a pour in place coping system and improved scuppers will be installed.
Current Status: Preliminary construction items in progress.

VALENCIA

CASTAIC LAKE WATER AGENCY WATER LINE INSTALLATION
South Fork bike trails
CLWA will be installing water line on Valencia Boulevard from Bouquet Canyon Road to Magic Mountain Parkway, on Magic Mountain Parkway to Railroad Avenue, and then down to Drayton Street. The second phase of the water line will be on the south fork bike trails between McBean Parkway and Valencia Boulevard.
Current Status: Construction is ongoing.

MAGIC MOUNTAIN/I-5 PHASE II - PROJECT S1002
Magic Mountain Parkway; The Old Road; I-5 on and off ramps at Magic Mountain Parkway Interchange
The City of Santa Clarita is overseeing the construction of phase 2 improvements which included LA County and Caltrans jurisdictional areas. This is a joint City-Developer effort with LA County and Caltrans' oversight to reconstruct the I-5 Magic Mountain Interchange including The Old Road realignment.
There are a total of 11 phases for these improvements. The Construction is in the final stage of completion. The overall construction will be completed by August 2009.

Ribbon cutting is scheduled for September 8, 2009.

SANTA CLARITA SPORTS COMPLEX PHASE IV
20870 Centre Pointe Parkway, Santa Clarita, CA  91350
 
Phase IV improvements will be made on 14 acres at the Sports Complex.  The new 40,000 sf. skate park, restroom building, and turf field are completed and open to the public.  An interim dog park, 2 outdoor basketball courts, pedestrian walksways, additional parking lot and landscape improvements are currently under construction.  Additional tiered seating and shade structures will also be added at the Aquatics Center. 
 
Current Status:  Construction ongoing.
Estimated Completion:  October 2009
Traffic Impacts:  Minimal impacts anticipated
Parking Impacts (temporary):  Driveway area closed 8/25/09 10pm-6am.
May need to park along driveway leading up to gym 8/28/09.  Pedestrian and emergency access to Gym and Activities Center will be available.
