New Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) for the Santa Clarita Valley

FEMA has updated the flood maps for the Santa Clarita Valley. As a result of the new maps, over 800 additional parcels within the City of Santa Clarita are now within the boundaries of Flood Hazard areas. These property owners will be required to purchase flood insurance when the maps become effective on September 26, 2008.

If you have a mortgage from a federally regulated lender and are mapped into a high-risk area known as a Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA) you are required by law to carry flood insurance.

Purchasing flood insurance prior to the flood maps release date could result in lower rates. For more information, click on the links below or contact your insurance representative.
