The purpose of the Cultural Affairs Advisory Committee (CAAC) is to provide leadership, vision, connection, and commitment to cultural arts development in the city of Santa Clarita. The CAAC represents the broad scope and view of the community at large. Promoting, representing, supporting, advocating, and fundraising for cultural arts development are at the core of the City of Santa Clarita Cultural Arts Master Plan. The eleven member CAAC, comprised of artists, business leaders, educators, and City Commissioners, works with the Cultural Affairs Office on arts-related issues, policy recommendations to City Council for arts development, and provides knowledge regarding the needs of the arts community in the City. City staff from the Cultural Affairs Office (CAO) will participate with the CAAC in a strategic planning session during 2002. The strategic plan will clearly and consciously lay out the work of the CAAC and the CAO for the next three to five years. The CAAC is on the ground floor of creating the City's first Cultural Affairs Advisory Committee and furthering the development of arts and culture in the City of Santa Clarita.
