Emergency Management: Emergency Expo 2001

Expo Information

The City, the American Red Cross and the Saugus Speedway host this event. The Expo is designed to help residents in Santa Clarita by raising awareness of emergency services available in the valley, helping gain information about what to do in an emergency, and making resources available that can help save lives in an emergency. Also vendors display and sell emergency/safety products and services.

Some activities and displays:

  • "Safe Moves" Interactive Traffic Safety Rodeo for children-(participants will receive a free helmet, limited supply)

  • Backyard Swim Safety with the Santa Clarita Swim Club

  • BABY Car Seat Checks with the Greater Optimist Club of SCV

  • Free finger printing for children provided by SCV-Newhall Optimists

  • LA County Search & Rescue Dog Unit

  • Camp out cooking with the Girls Scouts, an opportunity to taste delicious samples

  • Antique Emergency Vehicles

  • Participate in the popular "Quake Walk" for a chance to win great prizes

  • Yogi Bear School House earthquake simulator

  • LA County Sheriff demonstration on search and rescue

  • LA County Fire Department apparatus displays

  • Share the Road campaign gives-aways

  • American Red Cross-CPR and First Aid Demonstrations

  • C.E.R.T.-Community Emergency Response Training-Team Relays
