“PULL TO THE RIGHT”

The City of Santa Clarita, the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station, the California Highway Patrol and the Los Angeles County Fire Department have joined in partnership to campaign for a safer and more efficient public safety response to emergencies.

As deputy sheriffs, police officers, firemen, ambulance and rescue personnel respond to critical emergencies, time is of the essence.  The goal of all emergency personnel is to get to the person that needs help as quickly and safely as possible.

Everyday emergency response units in the Santa Clarita Valley experience unnecessary time delays because motorists fail to safely pull to the right shoulder of the roadway and stop when an emergency vehicle is approaching with its red lights and siren activated, as required by California law.
