Remember the Right Way to Yield to an Emergency Vehicle:

S: Stay aware
Drive defensively, avoid distractions and keep the noise level down in your car.

I: Inspect
Regularly check your rear-view mirror for emergency lights and sirens.

R: Respond
When you see emergency vehicles approaching, vehicles on both sides of the street must move as far to the right side of the road as possible and stop.

E: Examine
Before entering back onto the road, make sure there aren’t anymore emergency vehicles approaching.

N: Never
Don’t follow or try to outrun an emergency vehicle. Drivers should stay at least 300 feet behind emergency vehicles.
