The Santa Clarita City Council, Commissioners and, staff believe recreational activities are an important part of our community’s healthy growth and development and want to ensure all of our local youth have an opportunity to participate in the City’s many high quality recreational events.
To assure that our entire community has an opportunity to enjoy the City’s many recreational program,, the City created the S.C.O.R.E. Program, which provides over 100 annual scholarships to Santa Clarita Youth. S.C.O.R.E., which stands for “Supporting Children’s Opportunities in Recreational Events,” is funded completely by the generous donations of our City’s great residents and businesses—like you! The Program provides youth, whom otherwise could not afford to, a chance to participate and play in a safe environment, and enjoy the many great parks, recreational classes, program, and sports leagues offered by the City’s Recreation division via scholarships. S.C.O.R.E. helps our youth:
- Develop positive use of leisure time
- Develop their capacity to engage in positive behaviors that nurtures their own well-being
- Set personal goals
- Spend time and have fun with family and friends
- Escape from the daily stresses of life through recreation
- Build character and learn life skills
- Create their community
Thank you for supporting OUR youth. Together, we can continue to provide hope for them and the future!
