ACCESS GUIDE

City of Santa Clarita ’s award winning Technology Services Department utilizes leading edge technologies and an informative website to provide many city services throughout the community. To further enhance visitors’ experience in Central Park , Santa Clarita IT Department developed a public wireless network with free Internet access covering 75% of the entire park area. Visitors will be able to access the Internet with 802.11b wireless enabled laptops or personal desktop assistants (PDA).

Configure your wireless adapter to connect to the E/SSID/Network to: swifi

Please contact your equipment manufacturer if you require assistance with any of the steps below
For Windows XP Users:
1. Right-click the Network icon in the taskbar (two blinking computers)
2. Select View Available Networks
3. Highlight swifi under Available Networks and click on Connect
4. Open a browser (Ex. Internet Explorer) window. You will be automatically redirected to a login/registration screen.

For Mac OS X Users:
1. From the Apple Menu, open up the Airport option
2. Under Airport, make sure that Airport Power is On
3. Under Network, select swifi
4. Close the window
5. Open a browser (Ex. Safari, Opera, IE *) window. You will be automatically redirected to a login/registration screen.


* Internet Explorer v5.2 for Apple computers is known to have some issues with certain SSL certificates versions. It is recommended visitors use Safari or Opera for login or registration purposes.
