AMGEN Tour of CA Press Conference Recap
With the 2008 Amgen Tour of California professional cycling road race drawing near, City of Santa Clarita Mayor Bop Kellar recently joined officials from Pasadena, host of the Stage 7 finish, and AEG, presenters of the Amgen Tour of California, at the Court of Champions at the historic Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena to preview the the final stage of the race. Stage 7 is being refered to as "a tale of two cities" because of the significance Santa Clarita and Pasadena will play to the over all outcome of the 2008 running of the race. Mayor Bob Kellar emphasized the significance of the final stretch to the finish line.
For community members wishing to make the weekend of February 23 and 24th a total experience, the City of Santa Clarita will be arranging bus trips to bring fans from the Start of Stage 7 in Santa Clarita to Pasadena to experience the exciting conclusion to the race.
