New Streetlights to be Installed on Sierra Highway and Bouquet Canyon Road
The City of Santa Clarita and Southern California Edison (SCE) will begin installation of new streetlights along portions of Sierra Highway starting mid-July. Additional new streetlights will also be installed along Bouquet Canyon Road beginning in August. The updates are part of the City’s efforts to improve safety on the road for both motorists and pedestrians.
Southern California Edison will be installing streetlights on the northbound and southbound portions of Sierra Highway, beginning at Soledad Canyon Road and extending north to College of the Canyon’s campus exit. A total of 79 new streetlights will be installed on a combination of existing and newly installed wood poles. Installation is expected to be completed by early September.
The City of Santa Clarita is also working with Southern California Edison to install new streetlights on the eastbound portion of Bouquet Canyon Road from Festividad Drive to Centurion Way. Installation of these streetlights is expected to be completed this coming fall.
Construction will take place during the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., during which motorists may experience slight delays and occasional lane closures. Motorists are also asked to pay close attention to posted “No Parking” notices and reduce their speed through the construction zone.
