Teen Summit Coming to Newhall Community Center
Teens from Throughout Southern California Invited to Leadership Workshops
Calling all teens! The City of Santa Clarita and the Southern California Teen Coalition (SCTC) will host the 2018 Southern California Teen Summit at the Newhall Community Center (22421 Market Street) on Saturday, March 10 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The Teen Summit brings together teens from throughout the region to Santa Clarita for a series of leadership breakout sessions. The theme of this year’s event is “Define, Know and Brand Yourself” and sessions include discussions titled “Protecting Who You Are through Social Media,” “Generation What? Defining Yourself before Others Do” and “How to Draw Comics the Marvel Way.”
The keynote speaker at the 2018 Teen Summit is Brian Crosby, creative representative in charge of over 9,000 Marvel characters as they appear in Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, traveling exhibits, shows, conventions and amusement venues around the world. Crosby will speak to attendees on how to define themselves and recognize their leadership qualities in order to reach their full potential.
Registration is $15 per person and includes admission to a continental breakfast at 9:30 a.m. Attendees will also be provided lunch and those who register can take advantage of a special discount on Six Flags admission, valid from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. following the Teen Summit.
