Santa Clarita Public Library to Host Open Houses in Celebration of Library Week

The Santa Clarita Public Library has what you need for your next adventure – whether that’s researching your next vacation destination, learning how to use new technology or diving into a new story. Learn more about what your library has to offer during Library Week, which takes place April 7 through April 13.

The public is invited to the following free open houses, no RSVP required:

  • Tuesday, April 9, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Valencia Library, located at 23743 Valencia Boulevard
  • Wednesday, April 10, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Canyon Country Jo Anne Darcy Library, located at 18601 Soledad Canyon Road
  • Thursday, April 11, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Old Town Newhall Library, located at 24500 Main Street

Enjoy cookies and milk while learning about the many programs and services offered by the Santa Clarita Public Library. Get a behind-the-scenes tour of each branch, meet Sammy Clarita and your local library staff members and participate in fun activities for a chance to win prizes. Library Week will also be celebrated online through the City of Santa Clarita and Santa Clarita Public Library Facebook pages. ­

Santa Clarita Artist ServicesThe City of Santa Clarita City Council and Arts Commission is proud to present the New Heights: Artist Development Workshops, which is designed to assist artists, performers, and arts organization representatives to expand their knowledge and to learn valuable tools to increase their ability to be successful.  The series comprises workshops, panel discussions, and art trips that are designed to engage creative individuals, no matter what level of experience.


Santa Clarita Public ArtPublic Art is a tool to add to the personality of a community, while also encouraging creative expression and discussion. Many of the Public Art projects are an opportunity for the community to be a part of the construction of the pieces, thus creating truly "public" art.
