REGISTER FOR THE 2020 ELECTION CYCLE ON
NATIONAL VOTER REGISTRATION DAY
City to Host Voter Registration Drive in Santa Clarita September 24

Each year millions of Americans are unable to vote because they miss a registration deadline, have outdated information or don’t know how to register. To prepare residents for the 2020 election cycle, the City of Santa Clarita will host a voter registration drive on Tuesday, September 24, as part of National Voter Registration Day.

During regular business hours, citizens 18 years of age and older may visit the City Clerk’s Office at City Hall (23920 Valencia Boulevard) to learn about voter eligibility requirements and registration deadlines, as well as complete and submit a voter registration form. All three branches of the Santa Clarita Public Library (Canyon Country, Newhall and Valencia) will also have staff available during operating hours to assist patrons and provide informational materials about how to register to vote.

Staff from the City Clerk’s Office will have a table set up at the Santa Clarita Valley Senior Center at Bella Vida to assist the senior population from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Bella Vida is located at 27180 Golden Valley Road.

The State of California also allows state residents who are also United States citizens to pre-register to vote if they are 16 or 17 years old. Pre-registration for 16 and 17-year-olds must be done online and youth who pre-register to vote will have their registration become active once they turn 18. Pre-registration information can be found at registertovote.ca.gov.

To learn more about registering to vote in California and the City of Santa Clarita’s voter registration efforts, please contact the City Clerk’s Office at (661) 255-4391.
