City to Celebrate ARTober with Full Lineup of Arts Events
CITY TO CELEBRATE ARTOBER WITH FULL LINEUP OF ARTS EVENTS
ARTober to be Held in Honor of National Arts and Humanities Month
The City of Santa Clarita will celebrate ARTober this October, in honor of National Arts and Humanities Month. Santa Clarita community members are invited to join in during the month-long arts extravaganza by participating in a variety of arts and humanities-related events.
ARTober will bring enriching cultural events to Santa Clarita, including the Hart of the West Native American Pow Wow and Craft Fair on October 5 and 6, at William S. Hart Park, and a Caribbean Dance JAM Session on October 10, at the Newhall Community Center.
The celebrations will continue with new art exhibits, including “Springs Prints” in the First Floor Gallery at City Hall featuring photographs by the Santa Clarita Valley Photographers Association, and The MAIN’s newest exhibit “Three Projects: Small, Medium, and Large” by local photographer Ted Dayton. All are invited to attend the Artist Reception for Dayton at The MAIN on October 17, at 7:00 p.m.
On October 19, the City will host a dedication ceremony for the City’s newest art piece titled “Inertia” at the Santa Clarita Skate Park. Later in the day, residents can experience festive fall art at the Underwater Pumpkin Carving event at the Santa Clarita Aquatic Center at 6:00 p.m.
The month will conclude with the City’s Arts Symposium on October 26, at The Centre, where artists and art-lovers can participate in panels and sessions that cover a variety of topics from the cinematic, visual and musical arts.
