Web Production Intern
As an intern with the City of Santa Clarita, I was exposed to programs that I’d never worked with before. I gained new technical skills and more confidence with computers, which I see helping me a lot in whatever my next step is professionally.
I was able to interact with different people and got to see a bit of what each department does in the City. Gaining this firsthand experience in a professional environment, like the City’s, will help me tremendously in the future.
I would encourage everyone to seek an internship with the City because it is an opportunity to grow your professional skills, while also getting to work with great people and contribute to the Santa Clarita community.

My experience interning at the City of Santa Clarita has been incredibly fulfilling. My internship provided me with both professional and personal opportunities for growth and gave me greater confidence. It gave me information about the day-to-day of working at a public Planning Division counter that I never could have gotten from my classes. I would absolutely refer a friend to this internship. Santa Clarita is a fantastic place to learn, in a fast-paced, yet structured and supportive environment.

Environmental Services Intern
Throughout my internship, I learned various skills that shaped me to become a distinctive professional. The guidance and learning opportunities fostered by my supervisors have been incomparable to any workplace. I have been given the incredible opportunity to work with governmental and business professionals, perform hands-on tasks for the City, and learn implementation of public policy for a local government agency. This internship has advanced my professional skills, solidified my career aspirations and taught me how wonderfully challenging, yet worthwhile it is to be a public servant.

Traffic Engineering Intern
Interning with the City of Santa Clarita has been a very beneficial experience. The internship has vastly increased my knowledge of many important and universal computer programs including Photoshop, AutoCad and Excel, which have already supported my efforts in college. For instance, I was able to complete a project in one of my Engineering classes faster than anyone else due to my newfound knowledge of AutoCad shortcuts and hotkeys. The internship also helped me visualize what my future could hold.
The Master's University
My internship helped me learn how to handle myself professionally, manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, as well as build healthy and enriching relationships with coworkers. Probably one of my favorite parts of the internship was getting to represent the City in everything I did. If an individual doesn't learn from the City, they were not trying.
