The City of Santa Clarita offers free curbside Christmas tree recycling every year, from December 26 to the second Saturday in January. By recycling your tree, you can help the environment and keep this valuable resource out of our landfills. All recycled trees are used as soil amendment, compost, or bagged for mulch to be given away every spring at the Arbor Day/ Earth Day celebration.
Single family residents should place their trees at the curb on their regular collection day during the two weeks following Christmas. Multi-family residents can place their trees adjacent to the refuse bins in their complex.
- No flocked, painted, or fireproofed trees
- No ornaments, tinsel, or lights
- No nails, nets, or tree stands
