SPRING THEME: Trails and Open Spaces

What places will you explore in the City of Santa Clarita this spring? The theme of the City’s spring 2020 photo contest is Trails and Open Spaces! As you take a stroll or a hike through one of the City’s beautiful open spaces or trails, snap a picture of the scenery to submit in the photo contest. We can’t wait to see your outdoor adventures!

Winners are selected by a panel of judges comprised of City staff, all of whom have experience in photography, design and/or marketing.

How long does it take to receive my prize?
Approximately 6 weeks.  Winners will be contacted via email within 2 weeks after the contest closes.  Once w-9s are received from the winners, checks will be mailed to the winners' addresses within another 2-4 weeks.

Do I need to report these winnings on my taxes?
Only if you receive more than $600 from the City in a single calendar year.  In this case, you will receive a 1099 from the City at the end of the year, and you are required to report that amount.
